Work has been so busy lately, I've had to keep rescheduling Kaden and Kodie's check up appointments. So after two months of rescheduling, we finally got into the doctor. Kaden had his 4 yr. check up and did so good, til we started talking about shots. It was all over from there. It was all I could do to pull him out from behind the chairs, kicking and screaming. They had to call in two more nurses to come help us. It sure was easier to hold him down when he was younger and a lot smaller. Needless to say, he only got one shot in the leg (flu shot), then he also got the flumist for the H1N1 vaccine. Just my luck that they would be out of the flumist for the regular flu shot. Kodie sure did not like seeing brother tackled and crying, she just hung onto my leg and cried. Poor Brother. Little did she know she was going to get 5 shots. Poor little ones. I hate shots. Kodie passed her visit with flying colors as well. The biggest things we need to work on is getting rid of "baba" (bottle), and cutting back on how much milk my kids drink. Pretty sure we go through about 6 gallons of milk a week, and I am not a big milk drinker myself. I guess the next long weekend (which will probably be christmas) we will get rid of the bottle. Maybe I'll hold off til the New Year. Ugh, I just don't want to go through the tears and frustration. I am not looking forward to this. It is such a life saver for me and Kodie loves her baba. So if anyone has any tips on how to ease this process, Please let me know. Kaden wasn't as attached as Kodie is, so I'm not sure what to do with her.
Well here are their Stats:
KADEN:(4yrs old) weight 39 lb. (68%) Height- 42 in (76%)
KODIE: (14 mo old) weight 23 lb. 7 oz. (69%) Height 30 in (51%)
My babies are growing up way too fast.

Thanksgiving Weekend
THURSDAY
I love Thanksgiving time. I not only love the delicious food that we get to stuff ourselves with, but I also love the time we get to spend with our families. We had so much fun this weekend. We were able to spend Thanksgiving day with Jared's family. His mom made the most delicious food. My fav. part is probably all the yummy pies. After a yummy meal and a ferocious game of monopoly (which I lost) we headed for Gunnison to my parents. We rolled into town around 10:30 and headed right for bed. The kids were so sleepy.
FRIDAY
I'm so glad Katie and Kim came. Katie brought her cute puppy (Sage). Kaden loves that dog. It is a really good dog. It was fun to watch it run through the snow.
Now we just need to get our trees home and put the lights on them. Yeah!!!! Can't wait for Christmas.
I decided that I was going to try out the Black Friday Frenzy. I've always avoided shopping on black Friday. I hate shopping with huge crowds, but this year I guess I was feeling a little adventurous. My sisters (Katie and Kim) came with me. We made it to the Walmart in little Richfield by 3 am. I thought for sure we would be one of the first to be there, but I sure was wrong. I was so shocked at the number of shoppers, and how many of them actually had their hair done and makeup on. I felt a little out of place with my sweats and slipper boots on. So we waited in line til 5 am. and needless to say I did get what I went for. (a Nintendo DS for Kaden's Christmas). Not sure if the money I saved ($30) was actually worth getting up that early for, but I can now say that I have shopped on Black Friday. I was back home and in bed by 6:30. Not Bad! Unfortunately, my kids were just starting to wake up so I didn't get much sleep.
It was all worth it!!!
We also went up the canyon with my dad. Kaden and my dad tried fishing, but most of the lakes were frozen over. Kaden thought it was so cool to be able to stand on water.
SATURDAY
We went up the canyon again on an elusive Christmas tree hunt. It was so beautiful with the snow covering the ground. We hiked a little bit but soon found the tree we were looking for. Jared had to climb a big hillside to get it. "Thanks babe for always going above and beyond for our family." We also cut a tree down for Scott (my bro-in-law) and Kim and my dad cut down a cute Charlie Brown tree for my parents home. We had so much fun. Kodie enjoyed the hiking as long as I kept moving, as soon as I would stop to catch my breath she would start to fuss.

Dinnertime.
Does anyone else feel like they've been in a food fight after every meal. Kodie sure does love it. Now that she's a big girl, she likes to feed herself and everyone else at the table. Wow, what a mess.

Much needed blog update.....
Wow these past two months have flown by so quickly. We have been busy. Well to begin with I lost my camera in September. I looked for it everywhere. One day I asked Kaden where it was, he told me that it was outside under the deck. I thought to myself (why on earth would it be outside under the deck) plus Kaden is notorious for his stories, so I continued to tear my house apart. Well about two weeks after that, while Jared and I were painting our deck, I found my camera underneath it. I was so sad. It had been through a couple of really wet storms. Needless to say... It no longer works. So for my early birthday present Jared bought me a new camera. He knew I would want to take pictures of Kaden and Kodie's birthdays. All three of our birthdays are within a week of each other. Kaden is the 6th of Oct. Kodie is on the 9th and mine is the 13th. Since Kaden and Kodie have such close birthdays we decided to have a combined birthday party for the two of them. We had a halloween costume party. It was so fun. Everyone dressed up so cute and the kids recieved so many presents. It was like christmas. Well Kaden is now 4, and Kodie turned the big #1. This last year has gone by so fast. My baby is growing up too quickly.
We dressed up as Bees: Jared is the Worker bee, I am the Queen Bee of course, Kaden is Bumblebee the transformer, and Kodie is our sweet Honeybee.
My cute parents. My dad won the costume competition. Yeah Dad!!!!
Me and My BEE.
We decorated pumpkins. (which I grew in my garden) The kids loved it.
Kodie loved opening up presents. She wanted to play with them before opening the next one.
Kaden got to blow out the Candles. I can't believe he is 4. wow.
kodie sure did love her cake. It's always so funny to watch them dig in. She wasn't sure what to do at first, til she tasted the delicious cake, then it was all over her. I love this age. It's so much fun. I still can't believe she is one though. I swear it was two weeks ago when she was born. Now she's walking and into everything. We can't keep up with her. She's so much fun and we love her to pieces. Happy Birthday Kaden and Kodie. We all love you both so much.

summer of 09 update
Wow.... I can't believe July is almost half over. This summer has gone by so fast. I guess we've been pretty busy. At the beginning of June, We went out to Vernon for a fun family reunion. Jared's cousin brought out the cutest little pink fourwheeler for their daughter to ride. Kaden just had to try it out. Anyhow, he climbed on and began to ride.... The next thing I hear is Oh.. Kaden just bailed off! So I went out to make sure he was ok. Not so much. Michael was carrying him over to me. His arm was Broke. Jared and I raced him to the nearest hospital (Tooele). Kaden did so good. I was so proud of him. They had to sedate him to fix his arm so we were there for awhile. We had to keep his arm covered with a towel so that he couldn't see it while we were waiting. To be honest with ya... It was one of the grossest things I've ever seen. It's probably worse when it's your own little ones. I so badly wished I could have taken his place. He was so brave and hardly complained at all. I think I cried more than he did. Needless to say as soon as we were done at the hospital he wanted to go back to Vernon and play some more with his cousins.
Kaden's x-ray... He broke both the Ulna and Radius bones. Don't worry... He's healing well.

I don't think having a broken arm has slowed him down one bit. We had to lock up the tramp and put his bike in the shed. He's still bouncing on my couches and jumping down the last 4 stairs. He gets his cast off tomorrow!!!! Yeah. We are so excited. I'm not sure if this has been harder on him or me. I'm just happy that he has done as well as he has.

We went to Gunnison for the 4th of July. It was so much fun. We had a great time at the city festivals, watching the fireworks and the parade. I think the funnest part was hanging out with my family. We had so much fun fishing and playing backyard baseball. It sure does make me miss the country and the mountains.

Well.... That's just a few of our summer activities. I guess that's enough to wear some of us out.

A Day At The Beach
Shannon and I took our kids to the beach. (at Daybreak) I know. I had no idea they had a beach there either. Shannon had told me how fun it was, so I was so excited to go and let the kids play in the sand and maybe I could get some desperately needed sun. After all, I do glow in the dark. So I met Shannon at the Daybreak lake, to learn that I was the only mom on the entire lake with a swimsuit on. A little embarrassing, but we didn't let that stop us from having a good time. The kids loved playing in the sand and splashing in the water. It really felt like a day at the beach!!!!
